WMEDI Supports Promotion and Consultation for 6 Companies, Promoting Strategic Cooperation
Medical device companies from the Gangwon region have set out to generate tangible export results by expanding their cooperative networks with local medical institutions through their participation in an exhibition in Vietnam.
The Wonju Medical Industry Tech Valley (WMEDI) announced on the 12th that it successfully completed the operation of the Gangwon Joint Pavilion at the '2026 K-Med Expo Vietnam,' held at the SECC exhibition center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from June 4th to 6th.
In collaboration with the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) and the Gangwon Techno Park, WMEDI established the joint pavilion to support product promotion and export consultations for six medical device and healthcare companies based in the province.
The participating companies presented their technologies and products to local buyers and medical institution representatives, exploring potential opportunities to enter the Southeast Asian market.
During the exhibition period, the delegation visited Tam Anh General Hospital, a major medical institution in Vietnam, to discuss the implementation of Gangwon-based medical devices and explore avenues for mutual cooperation.
In particular, AIDOT’s cervical cancer diagnostic artificial intelligence (AI) solution achieved a substantial milestone in collaboration; following discussions with the hospital, both parties agreed to review the implementation of a free three-month clinical trial.
Young Sung Kim, President of WMEDI, stated, "This event served as a momentum to promote the excellence of Gangwon's medical devices in the Southeast Asian market and broaden our foundation for cooperation. We will continue to develop the Gangwon Medical Equipment Show (GMES 2026) this coming September into a global exchange platform for international expansion."
