Andong Hospital has officially adopted Cerviray AI, AIDOT's AI-assisted cervical cancer screening solution, for use in its Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Cerviray AI is an integrated hardware and software system that utilizes artificial intelligence trained on cervical medical images to analyze examination images, automatically highlight suspicious lesions, and assist clinicians during the interpretation process.

The final diagnosis and clinical decision remain the responsibility of the physician, while the AI serves as a decision-support tool.

The solution has received Class III medical device approval from the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) and has also been designated as an Innovative Product by Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE).

Cerviray AI operates using an on-device AI architecture, meaning patient data is processed and stored within the hospital rather than transmitted to external servers, helping maintain data security and privacy.

Following its installation, Cerviray AI is now being used in routine clinical practice at Andong Hospital's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The hospital expects the solution to enhance its cervical cancer screening workflow by enabling physicians to review examination images together with AI-generated visual indications of suspicious areas.

"The AI visually highlights areas that warrant closer examination, providing useful reference information during the clinical evaluation," said Dr. Heung-Ryeol Kim, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Andong Hospital.

An AIDOT representative commented, "Starting with Andong Hospital, we plan to expand real-world adoption to additional hospitals in the Andong region and across the Gyeongnam area. We are also considering publishing research based on accumulated real-world clinical use cases in the future."
